March O March..................
It is just 2 days into the month of March and yet I have already experienced the wrath of its bad luck.
At first I planned to whine endlessly in this blog but have now decided against it. What’s the use of crying over spilled milk? One should stay positive and face life with a gusto (easy for me to say now……….. you should have seen my pathetic side yesterday :P)
However, I do wanna share an inspiring moment I had yesterday when I was down in the pits with all my bad luck. Depression was starting to kick in when suddenly that Bon Jovi song from eons ago came on……………
“Tommy used to work on the docks
Union’s been on strikeHe’s down on his luck...it’s tough, so tough
Gina works the diner all day
Working for her man, she brings home her pay
For love - for love
She says we’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got’
cause it doesn’t make a difference
If we make it or not
We’ve got each other and that’s a lot
For love - we’ll give it a shot
Whooah, we’re half way there
Livin’ on a prayer
Take my hand and we’ll make it - I swear
Livin’ on a prayer”
“Livin’ on a prayer” Man! That song hit all the right notes in me and started to give lift my spirits to face life and its challenges. Then the most beautiful event in the world unfolded in front of my eyes when I was crossing Penang Bridge (not a child birth la, u sia kia!). The orange sun was beautifully placed against the running hills as its backdrop. The orange sun gave a me the impression of a tired figure getting ready to head home and rest in his comfy lazy chair. No longer was he the fierce dude that tortured me all day long while I was doing my sales call. Then in the blink of an eye (I kid u not!), it started to drop behind the hills and then darkness engulfed me. Although I have always dreamt of taking a pretty gal to see a sunset and get them into a lovey dovey mood, I have never really done that before. Needless to say, I was in awe and savouring every moment of this. Then it suddenly hit me, I’ve managed to put all my troubles at the back of my head while taking in the beautiful sight. Talk about the power of nature!
